Fintan McKahey’s latest offering ‘Platinum’ is a missive to magic. This single is an eclectic, down tempo, alt-pop production, inspired by Ben Howard and Chet Faker. His music has evolved from the more indie-folk, percussive style of his 2016 debut EP ‘Two Lifetimes Late’.
He writes, records and produces his music from the haven of his own home studio, set amidst the rolling hills of wild West Cork, vistas that inspire imagery present in many of his lyrics.
Fintan is continuing the family legacy, as the son of Stump drummer, Rob McKahey and the nephew of CousteauX singer, Liam McKahey.
‘God Games’ EP, released in 2019, resonates with his earlier rites-of-passage through Kenya, Thailand and Peru. The songs were well received, with both the title track and accompanying video being selected by BBC Radio Ulster (Across the Line: Introducing ), Corks RedFM (Local Legend: Dave Mac’s Drive) Corks 96FM (Arts Show), Dublin Radio, Eirewave (Best Irish Indie Playlist) Golden Plec, KCLR (Irish Music Show: Song of the Week), Moncrieff on Newstalk, RTE Radio 1 Arena, Today FM (Artist of the Week) WLR, 8Radio and more.
On tour, he will continue to deliver a full band experience at many live shows. However, he is delighted to have had the opportunity to play more intimate solo sets, supporting Cry Monster Cry, Junior Brother, Leo Stannard, Roisin O, Thanks Brother, The 4 Of Us and The Scratch. As a multi-disciplinary artist, he continues to collaborate with others across the mediums of film, photography and visual arts.

Covid-19 – Any rescheduling of proposed dates will be at the discretion of the venues. Please check back closer to the time. Thank you.
